Tongue piercings and food
After getting a tongue piercing, eating normally can be challenging at first. In the first few days, it’s important to stick to soft foods like yogurt, soups, and mashed potatoes to avoid irritating the piercing. Hot, spicy, or crunchy foods should be avoided, as they can cause discomfort and prolong the healing process.
Additionally, drinking cold water or sucking on ice can help reduce swelling. As the piercing heals over the next 4-6 weeks, you can gradually return to your normal diet.
Remember to rinse your mouth after every meal to maintain hygiene and prevent infection.
