How do I know if my piercings are starting to reject?
If you’re concerned that your piercing might be rejected, there are several signs to look for. Common symptoms include the jewelry moving from its original place, a reduction in the amount of tissue between the entrance and exit holes (ideally, there should be at least a quarter inch), and an increase in the size of these holes.
Additionally, the jewelry might start to hang or droop differently, and the skin around the piercing could become flaky, peeling, red, inflamed, or calloused. In some cases, the area may become nearly transparent, allowing the jewelry to be visible through the skin.
